ASTM A789 UNS S32205 Duplex Stainless Steel Tubes
UNS S32205 is a duplex stainless steel with a microstructure,when heat treated properly,od nearly equare proportions of austenite and ferrite.This microsturcture ensures that S32205 is much more resistant to stress corrosion cracking than SS304 and SS316L.The higher chromium,molybdenum and nitrogen contens give SS2205 significantly improved pitting and crevice-corrosion resistance in the presence of chlorides.SS2205 also has better general corrosion resistance than SS316L in most environment.In addition,SS2205 has a 0.2% Proof Stress of about double that of conventional austenitic stainless steels.

UNS S32205 Duplex Stainless Steel Tubes Corrosion Resistance
karakter 2205 stainless steel exhibits excellent corrosion resistance, much higher than that of grade 316. It resists localized corrosion types like intergranular, crevice and pitting. The CPT of this type of stainless steel is around 35°C. This grade is resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC) at temperatures of 150°C. karakter 2205 stainless steels are apt replacements to austenitic grades, especially in premature failure environments and marine environments.
UNS S32205 Duplex Stainless Steel Tubes Heat Resistance
The high oxidation resistance property of Grade 2205 is marred by its embrittlement above 300°C. This embrittlement can be modified by a full solution annealing treatment. This grade performs well at temperatures below 300°C.
Welding Characteristics:
1, Possesses good weldability
2, Should not generally be welded without filler metal as this may result in excessive ferrite
Varmebehandling:
1, Annealing temperature range is 1868 to 2012°F (1020 to 1100°C)
2, Cannot be hardened by heat treatment – but Duplex 2205 does work-harden
3, Special consideration is needed to compensate for a higher coefficient of thermal expansion to avoid warping and distortion
Duplex 2205 Bearbejdelighed:
Duplex 2205 er noget sværere at bearbejde end 300 serie austenitiske rustfrit stål. Der kræves større skærekræfter, og hurtigere værktøjsslid er typisk.
